Friends of Burma, Inc. is collecting money to help the people of Burma (Myanmar) who have suffered from the recent earthquake. Friends of Burma is delivering food, medicine, empathy and emotional support to the victims regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or tribe. Friends of Burma, a 501(C)(3) nonprofit, was founded in 1985. It is staffed here with volunteers and has one Burmese staff in Myanmar who works with various organizations some of which go back to 1813. Our website is: friendsofburma.org. Recent earthquake in Myanmar(Burma)

  A recent 7.7 magnitude earthquake has caused a devastating effect in central Myanmar, including Mandalay, Sagaing and other cities.  There are reports that the majority of the buildings in Mandalay were damaged or collapsed due to the earthquake. People were also afraid to go back to their homes due to the aftershock effects.  With the temperature of approximately 100F during day time, people in the affected areas are in need of clean water, food and shelter during this time.  Because of the generous donors, Friends of Burma was able to send some help through the local organizations.  Please consider helping in the effort to help people who are in need.
