Empowering women who flee from conflict area

Your generous support has allowed FOB to provide grant money to our local leader who is helping women from a conflict area.   After fleeing from their native place, they are staying in a village far from their hometown.  Since they could not bring anything apart from what they could carry, they were facing many challenges in a new place.

When she noticed the materials brought by some refugee women, she was able to help them earn an income.  She selected both young and older women who are willing to work and are interested in weaving.  Her organization built a little baboo tent and appointed a field staff as a coordinator for the weaving group.

She visits them twice a month with threads for weaving and some food. Sometimes she invited women leaders to speak on personal hygiene, marketing design, small business skills and some inspiring talks on their vision for the future.  Currently, our local leader is trying to find ways to sell their weaving products through networking with global women group.
