Christmas gift report

 Our local leader and his wife visited a Township, where many internally displaced families are currently living.  They were able to visit three places and distributed donations from FOB.  They gave one of the gifts to a center where a pastor has been caring for 20 children whose parents are unable to look after them. The children attend a school that is about a 20- to 30-minute walk from the center.

Our leaders had the opportunity to encourage them and pray with them. During this difficult time, the pastor and his family have been struggling to feed the children and provide for their daily needs. So they gave them one of the  Christmas gifts to celebrate Christmas this year. They were overjoyed to receive it unexpectedly, and the pastor expressed his heartfelt thanks to the donor.

Our leaders felt blessed to see their happy faces when they received your gift, which served as a reminder of God’s care and concern for them.

Recent earthquake in Myanmar(Burma)

  A recent 7.7 magnitude earthquake has caused a devastating effect in central Myanmar, including Mandalay, Sagaing and other cities.  There are reports that the majority of the buildings in Mandalay were damaged or collapsed due to the earthquake. People were also afraid to go back to their homes due to the aftershock effects.  With the temperature of approximately 100F during day time, people in the affected areas are in need of clean water, food and shelter during this time.  Because of the generous donors, Friends of Burma was able to send some help through the local organizations.  Please consider helping in the effort to help people who are in need.
