Thank you note from one of the local leaders

 It’s been almost five years since the coup and the fighting that has broken out throughout the country.  In one of the hardest hit states, people fled their State and are scattered everywhere, but most have taken refuge in the neighboring  State. The townspeople were told to return home but mostly have lost their homes and were not able to go back yet.  

Despite the difficult circumstances, all the orphans under their care are well, and are studying in a small town.   They are very thankful to God, and all the kind and generous sponsors who are still contributing to the welfare of the children. He said, "We just don’t know how to repay you all. May God bless you all and keep you safe."

Recent earthquake in Myanmar(Burma)

  A recent 7.7 magnitude earthquake has caused a devastating effect in central Myanmar, including Mandalay, Sagaing and other cities.  There are reports that the majority of the buildings in Mandalay were damaged or collapsed due to the earthquake. People were also afraid to go back to their homes due to the aftershock effects.  With the temperature of approximately 100F during day time, people in the affected areas are in need of clean water, food and shelter during this time.  Because of the generous donors, Friends of Burma was able to send some help through the local organizations.  Please consider helping in the effort to help people who are in need.
